Hyundai . Why is my Stereo not powering up in my car?

Why is my Stereo not powering up in my car? Yesterday I rewired everything completely and it was working fine. I attempted to try a different stereo in my car today so I exchanged them rewired again perfectly and it worked fine. After a few hours I realized this stereo didn't suit me too well so I changed back to my other. I wired everything like I normally would each being bonded together very tight. I ran out of electrical tape so I pushed the stereo in the dash for 1 minutes ran inside the house to grab some tape. I came back and my stereo would not power up. I have LED lights in my car which are connected to the black wire and the red wire and they power up fine. This tells me those two wires are not the problem. What's left is a blue wire and yellow wire. I tried rewiring them both multiple times but still no luck. What could have went wrong? car insurance.

Hyundai . How to Change the D150 Fuel Pump

The Dodge D150 was a full-sized pickup truck that began to be known as the Ram beginning in 1981. The 1993 D150 came with either a 3.9-liter, 180 horsepower six-cylinder engine or a 5.2 liter, 230 horsepower eight-cylinder engine. All models came standard with anti-lock brakes and a five-speed manual transmission. Each of these trucks models were equipped with an electric fuel pump that must be replaced when it fails to function. It is important to follow the proper procedures when changing the fuel pump so that the fuel system of your D150 truck is not damaged.
Difficulty:Moderately Challenging
Instructions Things You'll Need
Gas can
Funnel
Siphon
Siphon hose
Jack
Jack stands
Hammer
Brass punch
Ignition key
Flathead screwdriver
Socket wrench
Pliers
Wrench
Towels
Wheel blocksPrepare the Truck For the Repair

Step by Step :
1
Relieve the fuel pressure in the truck's fuel system by removing the gas tank cap. Remove the battery cables from the battery with a wrench and pliers.
2
Siphon out the fuel sitting in the truck's fuel tank. Put the fuel into a gas can with a funnel. Keep heavy mechanic's towels available around the gas can in case you spill any fuel.
3
Lift the rear portion of the truck with a jack and jack stands to have easier access to the fuel tank. Put wheel blocks behind the front two wheels to protect yourself while you are underneath the truck.
4
Detach the gas tank filler tube from the gas tank. Depending on the screws holding the filler tube in place, you will need either a socket wrench or flathead screwdriver to complete this step.
5
Disconnect the fuel lines running to the top of the fuel pump. You can remove these lines by hand unless there is some corrosion at the connection point. If you encounter any difficulty removing the lines, pull them away from the pump with pliers.
Detach the Gas Tank and Replace the Old Pump

Step by Step :
1
Hold up the bottom of the gas tank with your hand while you remove the metal support straps holding the tank in place. Check the tank after you have detached it from the truck to see if there are any cracks, rust or damage that would necessitate replacing the tank.
2
Pull the fuel tank out from under the truck to begin replacing the old fuel pump.
3
Disconnect the fuel pump locking ring from the top of the gas tank with a hammer and brass punch. Pull the old fuel pump and its strainer from the gas tank.
4
Clean the surface around the gas tank where the fuel pump and fuel pump locking ring sit. Wipe away any dirt or other debris that has accumulated with a towel.
5
Place the new fuel pump and strainer inside the gas tank. Place the locking ring back onto the tank and tighten the ring with a hammer and brass punch.
Prepare the Truck to Drive

Step by Step :
1
Reattach the gas tank to the truck by attaching the metal straps around it. Reattach the fuel lines that run into the top of the fuel pump and connect the gas tank filler tube back to the tank.
2
Lower the rear portion of the truck and reconnect the battery cables you had disconnected.
3
Put fuel back into the truck and start it. Check to see if there are any leaks in the fuel lines under the vehicle.

Hyundai . How to Replace the A/C Pressure Switch on a Chevrolet Truck

The Chevrolet truck uses two air conditioning pressure switches: a high- and low-pressure switch. The high-pressure switch is designed to shut down the compressor if the line pressure gets dangerously high. This will usually happen when a condenser fan fails. The low-pressure switch is designed to shut the compressor down if the pressure becomes to low or the evaporator freezes. The oil for the compressor is suspended in the Freon, and if a leak in the system occurs, the oil, being heavier than the Freon, will be the first thing to leak out. Low pressure will destroy a compressor through a lack of oil, and must therefore be repaired as soon as possible.
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions Things You'll Need
Set of wrenches

Step by Step :
1
Locate the high- and the low-side switches. The high-side switch is located on the smaller of the two air conditioning lines close to the radiator on the passenger side of the vehicle. The low-side switch will be located on the largest diameter air conditioning line or on the side of the accumulator (round container) on the passenger side firewall.
2
Unplug the switch by squeezing the fitting and pulling it straight out.
3
Remove the switch using the appropriate size wrench. There is a Schrader valve under the switch so no Freon will escape when the sensor is removed.
4
Check the new switch and make sure that the small O-ring is in place on the bottom of the switch. Place a small amount of refrigerant oil or Vaseline on the O-ring to keep it from tearing.
5
Thread the switch onto the Schrader valve and tighten it with a wrench, but do not torque down on it. It just needs to be snug.

For Vehicles With fuel injection 1. Try cranking the engine while someone sprays fuel injector cleaner into the throttle body. If the engine starts and then dies, it's a fuel problem. If the engine cranks without firing, it's an ignition system or compression problem. 2. If the engine did start with fuel injector cleaner, find out whether the fuel pump isn't pumping fuel or the computer isn't triggering the fuel injectors. 955 Car Insurance 1996 geo metro lsicoupe2d 393713

In either case, you're better off leaving the repairs to a professional. A! ? C Part IV: Dealing with On-the-Road Emergencies. For i/ehictes ufith carburetors 1. Look down the carburetor barrel and push the accelerator pump arm. Is fuel squirting into the venturi? If so, then the float bowl is full, but it still may not be getting a fresh supply of fuel when it needs it. 2. Disconnect the fuel pump end of the hose that leads from the carburetor to the fuel pump (see Figure 21-2) and place the end of the hose in ajar or plastic bag. If you don't have anything to put the hose in, forget this entire procedure. Never let gasoline run onto the ground. It's flammable and toxic to the environment. Also, be sure not to let gasoline run out of the hose onto your clothes or the engine. And if it's very hot, fan the area to disburse the fumes. Somewhere along that line is the fuel filter. The filter could have jammed — especially if it hasn't been changed in ages.

Hyundai . How do you time your 93 grand cherekee 4.0?

Pontiac Montana.

Figure 21-2: A hose runs from the fuel To fuel tank pump to the carburetor. To carburetor 3. Bump the starter and see whether gasoline squirts out of the hose. If it does, then your fuel filter and fuel pump are probably all right. If nothing comes out of the hose, you probably have either a plugged fuel filter, a defective fuel pump, or a broken fuel line — or you're out of gas. 4. Try to eliminate the fuel filter as the villain by removing it (Chapter 13 tells you how) to see whether gas comes out of the hose. If you changed the filter recently, ignore this step and look under the rear end of the car to see whether fuel is leaking from a broken fuel line. .Chapter 21: What to Do If Your Car Drops Dead or Won't Start Fire If your engine is getting enough air and fuel, you're probably having ignition system trouble. As I explain in Chapter 4, the "fire" is really electric current that's stored in the battery, replaced by the alternator, amplified by the coil and, in some vehicles, directed by a distributor to each spark plug. (Newer vehicles have distributorless ignition systems — Chapter 5 has the details.) If something along the way goes wrong and the spark fails to reach the plugs, all the air and fuel in the world won't produce combustion in the cylinders, and the vehicle won't go. Because the engine was running before it died, it's probably not the fault of the battery, solenoid, or starter, which brings you to the distributor cap — assuming that your vehicle has one. If you have a distributorless system, you'll need professional help to check it out. Checking the distributor cap

With the engine off, check to see whether the cables that run from the distributor cap to the spark plugs are pushed down securely at each end. Check the cable that runs from the distributor cap to the coil to be sure that it, too, is secure. How about the smaller wires that come out of the coil? Because many cars now have high-energy ignition systems that operate at 47,000 volts or higher, pulling a distributor or spark plug cable to test for a spark is unsafe. If your car has an electronic ignition system, the ignition module may have gone bad. If you have an electronic ignition system or a distributorless ignition system, skip the rest of the checks in this section. If your car has a non-electronic ignition system, follow the instructions in Chapter 12 to remove the distributor cap and look at the points. Do they open and close when you bump the starter? If not, adjust them so that they do and try to start the car again. If there's still no action, your points could be oxidized or fouled by a bit of grease or oil. Bump the engine so that the points are closed, and insert the tip of a screwdriver, nail file, matchbook cover, or feeler gauge between them to rub the point surfaces and eliminate the oxidation or dirt. If you still can't get the engine to turn over, move on to the next section. Replacing the rotor, condenser, and points If you've kept your old rotor, points, and condenser in the trunk of your car because they were still working when you replaced them during a tune-up, you can use these parts to try to find and correct your problem. First, following instructions in Chapter 12, try replacing the rotor with the old one. If that doesn't work, replace the condenser. If that doesn't work, replace the points. Don't worry about adjusting the point gap; as long as the points open and close, the engine will run. Part IV: Dealing with On-the-Road Emergencies. I've been told that the most frequent cause of engine failure on vehicles with old-style, non-electronic distributors is improper lubrication of the cam when the points were changed. Because of this, the little rubbing block gets worn down, and then, even when the block rests on the cam lobe, there's not enough surface to force the points apart. That's why, if you have a nonelectronic ignition system, it's important to check your dwell every 5,000 miles and replace points at every tune-up (see Chapter 12 for instructions). If you've checked everything out and your vehicle still won't go, you're probably going to have to wait for help. Sometimes part of your engine has given out. Sometimes it's the transmission. If that's the case, you may be saying good-bye to Old Faithful. On the bright side, you usually have plenty of warning before a car gives up the ghost. Of course, if you haven't checked and maintained your vehicle properly — if you've ignored the warnings, the knockings, the smoke from the tailpipe, the hesitations and the other symptoms I cover in Chapter 20 — well, you asked for it. Even the happiest, most beautifully tuned vehicle overheats occasionally. If you find yourself in stop-and-go traffic on an extremely hot day, chances are that your car's dashboard temperature indicator will rise or a warning light will come on. Here's how to help your vehicle regain its cool: At the first sign of overheating, shut off your air conditioner and open your windows. Doing so decreases the load on the engine and helps it cool off. If you continue to overheat, turn on the heater and blower. Doing so transfers the heat from the engine to the interior of the car. (This does wonders for your overheated engine but very little for you!) If you're stopped hi traffic and the temperature gauge is rising, shift into Neutral and rev the engine a little. Doing so makes the water pump and the fan speed up, which draws more liquid and air through the radiator. The increased air and liquid circulation helps cool things off. Try not to ride your brakes. Crawl along slowly, on little more than an idle, rather than moving up and then braking repeatedly. Brake drag increases the load on the engine and makes it heat up. If traffic is crawling, move up only when the gap between you and the vehicle in front of you gets too wide. .Chapter 21: What to Do If Your Car Drops Dead or Won't Start AAJ * If you think that your vehicle is about to boil over, drive to the side of the road, open the hood, and sit there until things cool off. Remember, don't open the radiator cap under these circumstances, and if your engine has boiled over, don't add water until the engine is quite cool again. If you must add water when the engine is still a little warm, add the water while the engine is running in Neutral. Follow the instructions at the beginning of this chapter to park where you can safely get out and open your hood. Then, to avoid the possibility of burning yourself, follow the instructions in Chapter 14 for opening a radiator pressure cap and adding liquid to the system safely. Sometimes very hot weather causes vapor lock, which makes your car stop
